Law Enforcement Criminal Analyst / Administrative Assistant

The Sac and Fox Nation has an immediate full time or part time opening for the Law Enforcement Criminal Analyst / Administrative Assistant position in Reserve, KS. The primary function is to manage the collection of crime statistics and reporting of those statistics to the FBI as well as telephone communications systems and general administrative support, clerical work which shall include: receive and acknowledge calls by telephone. Screen incoming calls to identify urgency and determine the appropriate action. Also filing and maintaining office records or any other duties as assigned by a supervisor. Training will be provided for Criminal Statistic Data entry and submission.

Must have good telephone etiquette, entry level office practices and procedures. Must have basic computer knowledge and the ability to type accurately at a reasonable rate of speed. Must pass a criminal background check / adjudication and have no criminal records. Must have high school diploma or G.E.D.

Must possess a valid driver’s license. Pay range is $13 to $16.50 per hour depending on qualifications. If selected, applicant will be subject to a drug screen prior to start of employment and random drug screens as per the Police Departments Policies.

This position has the option of being staffed either full time or part time: for example working four 10 hour days: 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM Monday thru Thursday; or working three eight hour days. Full time hours (minimum of 32 hours per week) required to qualify for full BCBS, dental, vision, and short-term disability insurance. Indian preference does apply.

Patrol Officer

The Sac and Fox Nation Police Department has an immediate full time opening for a Police Patrol Officer. Full-Time Hourly. Depending on funding availability. Non-certified $16, Certified $16.39
POSITION IS: Non-Supervisory
POSITION REPORTS TO: Chief of Police, Sergeant
POSITION OF WORK: This position is officed out of Reserve, Kansas and is located in the Sac and Fox Police Department and performs duties in the protection of life and property and the preservation of order on tribal land.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- This position requires the employee to be 21 years of age, have a high school diploma or GED certification with the employee being expected to have acquired the necessary information and skills to perform the job within six months in the position or be terminated. Must attend and pass extensive police academy training within one year.
- Must not have been convicted, and not have an expunged conviction, by any state or the federal government or a crime which is a felony or its equivalent under the uniform code of military justice.
- Must be able to pass a background check, physical and complete a psychological examination.
- Must be able to work under adverse working condition relating to public law enforcement. Hazardous and dangerous situations may arise in the apprehension of alleged criminals.
- Must be available for any and all hour/days and be available to rotate shifts if necessary.
- Must have the ability to operate communications equipment, computers, weapons, radar unit, patrol vehicle and related law enforcement equipment.
- Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Must live in Richardson County Nebraska or Brown County Kansas.
- Must have a valid state driver’s license and a good driving history.

Police Chief - Sac and Fox Nation

Police Chief - Sac and Fox Nation

The Sac and Fox Nation has an immediate full time opening for the Police Chief position. This position is typically filled by appointment every 3 years. The Police Chief reports directly to the Tribal Council. Under the direct supervision of the Tribal Council, the police chief plans, directs and participates in the activities of the Police Department. This employee is responsible for the enforcement of laws and the protection of life and property on land within the jurisdiction of the Sac and Fox Nation.  The police chief holds an important administrative post involving immediate responsibility for the development and administration of a complete program of public law enforcement.  This position has complete internal control in the administration of the department and total responsibility for the supervision of all department personnel.  Anticipated salary range $40,000 to $55,000 depending upon experience and depending upon funding availability.

Police Chief Position Requirements: (Request full Job Description to see greater detail.)  Requirements include but not limited to: More than three years of  law enforcement  experience.   Employee  is expected  to  have acquired the necessary information and skills to perform the job as expected by the Tribal Council; failure to meet this criteria within one year of initial hiring, may lead to termination of  employment  within the discretion of  the Tribal  Council.  Technical degree or some college credit preferred.  KLETC Certification or equivalent mandatory.  General knowledge of law enforcement techniques, computer applications preferred and emergency medical technology. Ability to operate communication equipment, computers, weapons, radar units, and emergency vehicle equipment. Understanding concepts of jurisdiction in Indian country is essential.  Limited supervision is provided. Job related decisions are reviewed through contact with the Tribal Council. Employee has supervisory responsibilities over subordinate personnel. The Police Chief shall undergo an extensive criminal and civil background check as required under Public Law 101-630, 25 CFR §63, Public Law 101-647, 45 CFR §1301, 25 CFR Part 1. Must live within a 60 minute response time from the Police Department office in Reserve, Kansas. Indian Preference does apply.

Social Services Admin Assistant/DV Advocate - Sac and Fox Nation - Full Time

Preferred qualifications include 2 years of experience in advocacy or case management or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  Education in the field of Criminal Justice, Counseling, Social Work or Psychology or related fields a plus. Will consider qualified applicants with work history and experience in case management, with domestic violence and sexual assault survivors or other qualities that fulfill the job description.    Required: valid driver's license, and maintain a clean driving record.   Wage is $13 to $14.50 per hr. depending on experience. Benefits package includes full BCBS, Dental, Vision.

This position will include working with Native American families and individuals who are victims of domestic violence and/or sexual assault, assistance with client resources, referrals, transports to and from appointments and crisis intervention. This person will be responsible for assisting in child welfare cases involving domestic violence, advocating for the families being served and educating the public.

We are working four 10 hour days: 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM Monday thru Thursday.  There may be instances where client needs or conference attendance extends your day beyond 5:30 PM.  Indian preference does apply.

Social Services/Domestic Violence Department Director

The Sac and Fox Nation of Missouri in Kansas and Nebraska has an immediate opening for a full time Social Services/Domestic Violence Department Director. Office hours 7:30 to 5:30 in Reserve, Kansas, Monday through Thursday and will potentially be on call a very limited number of evenings and weekends. Starting wage is $20 to $25 per hr. depending on experience. Includes full BCBS, dental, vision & other benefits. This position will include working with Native American families and individuals who are victims of domestic violence and/or sexual assault. Assistance with client resources, referrals, transports to and from appointments, crisis intervention and counseling are necessary. Responsible for delivery of social services, child welfare cases, advocating and educating public, managing & preparing reports for 15 grant funding sources. Must be willing to attend conferences and workshops in other states.
Preferred qualifications include licensed social worker, or capability to become licensed. Bachelor’s Degree in either Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice, or a closely related Human Services field, and 2 years of experience in advocacy or case management or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Native American preference applies.
