Our Mission:
The mission of the Sac and Fox nation Housing Authority is to identify, develop, and provide housing, community development and associated services to members of the Sac and Fox Nation of Missouri and Nebraska, along with other Native Americans. With respect to be served in the decisions that affect their lives and assure that services are provide in a manner considerate of cultural diversity in which it produces a quality lifestyle and healthy living environment.
About Us:
The Sac and Fox Nation of Missouri in Kansas and Nebraska Housing Authority was established July 8, 1981. Funding was applied for under the United States Housing Act of 1937, as amended. The Sac and Fox Nation of Missouri in Kansas and Nebraska – NE MA HA HA KI, are of Algonquin origin and woodland culture. We were called the “People of the Yellow Earth”. The Treaty of 1815 officially named the Sac and Fox Nation of Missouri in Kansas and Nebraska. In 1934, the Sac and Fox Nation of Missouri in Kansas and Nebraska organized as a federally recognized Tribe under the Indian Reorganization Act.
Eligibility for Housing:
- Submit to a credit check.
- Landlord Reference from three sources.
- Criminal Background Check.
- Must qualify under income guidelines.
- Social Security cards for all family members.
- Must provide all wages, income, and verification.
- One Head of Household must be enrolled in a federally recognized tribe.
- There is a $24 application fee per applicant 18 years or older.
