Brownfields/Emergency Response Coordinator– Sac and Fox Nation of Missouri in Kansas & Nebraska

Full time position officed in Reserve, KS. Duties include/ but not limited to: Complete site
analysis for potential hazardous contamination, create/maintain a list of possible contaminated
properties, and negotiate with vendors to contract analytical services for testing of the sites and
report of the findings.
May be required to attend Geographical Information System (GJS) and Global
Positioning System (GPS) training in order to obtain location data and create maps of potential
and verified sites, works daily with a computer. Attendance at regional and national meetings as
well as trainings/workshops. Conduct community outreach and maintain the department web
page. Work directly with contractors, tribal, state, and federal agencies to complete site
assessments and complete site-specific work.
Assist with packaging and maintaining grant compliance, as well as general
administration duties such as filing, purchases, financial forms, reporting and directing all
correspondence accordingly. Performs other duties as assigned by the Environmental
Department Director or Tribal Council.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: A college degree in environmental science or related
field is preferred. Experience or training in a Brownfield program, ASTM l & I!, GPS, GIS, and
environmental site assessment is desirable.
Must have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Must be able to
work in weather extremes. Must be able to travel. Be able to lift 50 lbs. Valid driver’s
license. Paid BCBS health insurance, free training in numerous fields. Native American
preference does apply. Working 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM Monday thru Thursday. Pay range is $18

DV Advocate - Sac and Fox Nation - Full Time

Preferred qualifications include 2 years of experience in advocacy or case management or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Education in the field of Criminal Justice, Counseling, Social Work or Psychology or related fields a plus. Will consider qualified applicants with work history and experience in case management, with domestic violence and sexual assault survivors or other qualities that fulfill the job description. Required: valid driver’s license, and maintain a clean driving record. Starting wage is $13.50 to $15 per hr. depending on experience. Benefits package includes full BCBS, Dental, Vision.

This position will include working with Native American families and individuals who are victims of domestic violence and/or sexual assault, assistance with client resources, referrals, transports to and from appointments and crisis intervention. This person will be responsible for assisting in child welfare cases involving domestic violence, advocating for the families being served and educating the public.

We are working four 10 hour days: 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM Monday thru Thursday. There may be instances where client needs or conference attendance extends your day beyond 5:30 PM. Indian preference does apply.

Education/Enrollment Coordinator - Sac and Fox Nation

The Sac and Fox Nation is seeking applicants for a full time (40 hrs/week ) Education/Enrollment Coordinator. Working within our four day work week, Monday thru Thursday 7:30 – 5:30. Full health benefits available. Pay range is $14 to $17 per hour. Officed at Reserve, KS. Non-Supervisory. Reports to Tribal Council. The purpose of this position is to review tribal enrollment, research tribal history and coordinate activities & reports within the education department. Responsible for reviewing requested enrollments on an individual basis, completing appropriate forms and maintaining tribal enrollment files both manual and computer records at the tribal level in addition to Bureau records. Responsible for the activities within the Nation’s education department, working closely with students, communicating with school counselors and financial aid officers in monitoring students’ progress and contacting local schools and educational groups to coordinate activities. Seeks additional sources of funding for educational opportunities. Performs other duties as assigned. This position requires a high school diploma or GED certificate and six (6) months administrative experience which has equipped the candidate with the skills to successfully perform the duties of the position. The Sac and Fox Nation Police Department has an immediate full time opening for a Police Patrol Officer. Full-Time Hourly. Depending on funding availability. Non-certified $16, Certified $16.39
POSITION IS: Non-Supervisory
POSITION REPORTS TO: Chief of Police, Sergeant
POSITION OF WORK: This position is officed out of Reserve, Kansas and is located in the Sac and Fox Police Department and performs duties in the protection of life and property and the preservation of order on tribal land.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- This position requires the employee to be 21 years of age, have a high school diploma or GED certification with the employee being expected to have acquired the necessary information and skills to perform the job within six months in the position or be terminated. Must attend and pass extensive police academy training within one year.
- Must not have been convicted, and not have an expunged conviction, by any state or the federal government or a crime which is a felony or its equivalent under the uniform code of military justice.
- Must be able to pass a background check, physical and complete a psychological examination.
- Must be able to work under adverse working condition relating to public law enforcement. Hazardous and dangerous situations may arise in the apprehension of alleged criminals.
- Must be available for any and all hour/days and be available to rotate shifts if necessary.
- Must have the ability to operate communications equipment, computers, weapons, radar unit, patrol vehicle and related law enforcement equipment.
- Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Must live in Richardson County Nebraska or Brown County Kansas.
- Must have a valid state driver’s license and a good driving history.

Police Chief - Sac and Fox Nation

The Sac and Fox Nation has an immediate full time opening for the Police Chief position. This position is typically filled by appointment every 3 years. The Police Chief reports directly to the Tribal Council. Under the direct supervision of the Tribal Council, the police chief plans, directs and participates in the activities of the Police Department. This employee is responsible for the enforcement of laws and the protection of life and property on land within the jurisdiction of the Sac and Fox Nation.  The police chief holds an important administrative post involving immediate responsibility for the development and administration of a complete program of public law enforcement.  This position has complete internal control in the administration of the department and total responsibility for the supervision of all department personnel.  Anticipated salary range $40,000 to $55,000 depending upon experience and depending upon funding availability.

Police Chief Position Requirements: (Request full Job Description to see greater detail.)  Requirements include but not limited to: More than three years of  law enforcement  experience.   Employee  is expected  to  have acquired the necessary information and skills to perform the job as expected by the Tribal Council; failure to meet this criteria within one year of initial hiring, may lead to termination of  employment  within the discretion of  the Tribal  Council.  Technical degree or some college credit preferred.  KLETC Certification or equivalent mandatory.  General knowledge of law enforcement techniques, computer applications preferred and emergency medical technology. Ability to operate communication equipment, computers, weapons, radar units, and emergency vehicle equipment. Understanding concepts of jurisdiction in Indian country is essential.  Limited supervision is provided. Job related decisions are reviewed through contact with the Tribal Council. Employee has supervisory responsibilities over subordinate personnel. The Police Chief shall undergo an extensive criminal and civil background check as required under Public Law 101-630, 25 CFR §63, Public Law 101-647, 45 CFR §1301, 25 CFR Part 1. Must live within a 60 minute response time from the Police Department office in Reserve, Kansas. Indian Preference does apply.
