Sac and Fox Nation - Full Time
The Sac and Fox Nation seeking full time assistant working with the Community Health Representative/Special Diabetes Program for Indians and the Transit Program. Working four 10 hour days, Monday thru Thursday 7:30 to 5:30 in Reserve, Kansas.

Benefits package includes full BCBS, dental, & vision. Along with serving as a CHR & Transit driver, this position provides information on health issues and assistance to Native Americans living within the service area of the Sac and Fox Nation of Missouri in Kansas and Nebraska (Richardson County, NE and Brown County, KS) to include making home visitations to distribute health information, & obtain vital signs.

Required: high school diploma or GED certificate, valid driver’s license, and maintain a clean driving record. There may be instances where transports or conference attendance extends your day beyond 5:30 PM. Preferred qualifications include previous CHR/CNA ex- perience working in the medical field and/or associate’s degree in health sciences. Tentative pay range $14 to $16 per hour depending upon qualifications. Indian preference does apply.

Gaming Commissioner - Sac and Fox Nation - Full Time Position

The Sac and Fox Nation is seeking applicants for a full time Gaming Commissioner. Working four days (8-4:30)-32 hours a week with attractive benefits package offered. Pay range is $18.00 per hour. Officed at 1324 US Hwy. 75 in Powhattan, KS, 66527 the purpose of this position is to assure that the Tribal Gaming Operation is in compliance with the Tribal Gaming Ordinance, Gaming Commission regulations, as well as applicable Federal and state regulations. Shall have the primary responsibility for enforcing Tribal Law with respect to each tribal gaming activity or operations conducted on the Reservation pursuant to the Gaming Compact, including regulation of any management contractors, manufacturer/distributors and all gaming employees. The Tribal Gaming Commission shall also receive consumer complaints within the gaming facility and shall assist in seeking voluntary resolution of such complaints. Indian Preference does apply.
This position requires a high school diploma or GED certificate. The appointed Gaming Commissioner must be able to qualify for a Category 1 gaming license.

Preferred qualifications include 3 years previous Indian gaming experience.

Patrol Officer

The Sac and Fox Nation Police Department has an immediate full time opening for a Police Patrol Officer. Full-Time Hourly. Depending on funding availability. Non-certified $16, Certified $16.39
POSITION IS: Non-Supervisory
POSITION REPORTS TO: Chief of Police, Sergeant
POSITION OF WORK: This position is officed out of Reserve, Kansas and is located in the Sac and Fox Police Department and performs duties in the protection of life and property and the preservation of order on tribal land.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- This position requires the employee to be 21 years of age, have a high school diploma or GED certification with the employee being expected to have acquired the necessary information and skills to perform the job within six months in the position or be terminated. Must attend and pass extensive police academy training within one year.
- Must not have been convicted, and not have an expunged conviction, by any state or the federal government or a crime which is a felony or its equivalent under the uniform code of military justice.
- Must be able to pass a background check, physical and complete a psychological examination.
- Must be able to work under adverse working condition relating to public law enforcement. Hazardous and dangerous situations may arise in the apprehension of alleged criminals.
- Must be available for any and all hour/days and be available to rotate shifts if necessary.
- Must have the ability to operate communications equipment, computers, weapons, radar unit, patrol vehicle and related law enforcement equipment.
- Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Must live in Richardson County Nebraska or Brown County Kansas.
- Must have a valid state driver’s license and a good driving history.

Police Chief - Sac and Fox Nation

The Sac and Fox Nation has an immediate full time opening for the Police Chief position. This position is typically filled by appointment every 3 years. The Police Chief reports directly to the Tribal Council. Under the direct supervision of the Tribal Council, the police chief plans, directs and participates in the activities of the Police Department. This employee is responsible for the enforcement of laws and the protection of life and property on land within the jurisdiction of the Sac and Fox Nation.  The police chief holds an important administrative post involving immediate responsibility for the development and administration of a complete program of public law enforcement.  This position has complete internal control in the administration of the department and total responsibility for the supervision of all department personnel.  Anticipated salary range $40,000 to $55,000 depending upon experience and depending upon funding availability.

Police Chief Position Requirements: (Request full Job Description to see greater detail.)  Requirements include but not limited to: More than three years of  law enforcement  experience.   Employee  is expected  to  have acquired the necessary information and skills to perform the job as expected by the Tribal Council; failure to meet this criteria within one year of initial hiring, may lead to termination of  employment  within the discretion of  the Tribal  Council.  Technical degree or some college credit preferred.  KLETC Certification or equivalent mandatory.  General knowledge of law enforcement techniques, computer applications preferred and emergency medical technology. Ability to operate communication equipment, computers, weapons, radar units, and emergency vehicle equipment. Understanding concepts of jurisdiction in Indian country is essential.  Limited supervision is provided. Job related decisions are reviewed through contact with the Tribal Council. Employee has supervisory responsibilities over subordinate personnel. The Police Chief shall undergo an extensive criminal and civil background check as required under Public Law 101-630, 25 CFR §63, Public Law 101-647, 45 CFR §1301, 25 CFR Part 1. Must live within a 60 minute response time from the Police Department office in Reserve, Kansas. Indian Preference does apply.

Job Summary: Gaming Inspectors are responsible for monitoring the gaming operation and reporting violations of the Tribal/State Compact, MICS, Tribal laws/Regulations, State laws/Regulations, Federal laws/regulation, and all other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

• Ability to obtain a Category 1 gaming license
• At least 18 years of age
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
